The game follows a female protagonist as she explores a vast desert, accompanied by a robotic dog with a glowing sphere in its abdomen. The protagonist has a grappling hook that she uses to remove the cores from the enemies, causing them to collapse. Cores can be swapped into different bodies to change their abilities.
